Interns have the opportunity to participate in a Ride-Along Program sponsored by the WSU Police Department, Pullman Police Department, Whitman County Sheriff's Office, and the Washington State Patrol. The Ride-Along Program provides the intern with the opportunity to observe the officers as they work in the field and gains hands on experience.
To participate in the Ride-Along Program, each intern must complete training in ride-along and radio procedures. Each intern must ride a minimum of five, eight-hour shifts with the Washington State University officers before riding with other agencies.
